Albums I'm Looking Forward To: 6/7/19

It is the first FULL week in June and that means we have our first week of June albums! That means summer vibes and fun music! Let's dive into the albums I'm looking forward to this weekend!

1. Happiness Begins by Jonas Brothers
Yes, you read that correctly. The Jonas Brothers are back! You might have seen a few videos and posts circulating around social media that they have reunited; you might have heard a recent single from them. Here they are, releasing a brand new album, ten years after their previous studio album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times. When the Jonas Brothers split, most of the Jonas brothers were kept busy with other music projects, so they weren't completely out of the music scene. It will be interesting to see how they have changed over the last ten years! Check out one of their singles off the new album, Sucker.

2. Organic by Casey Veggies
Casey Veggies was one of the founding members of the now defunct, Odd Future, which was a hip hop collective based out of Los Angeles, California. Before releasing his debut studio album, Live & Grow, he was featured on several songs from Odd Future and released a few mixtapes. He has definitely grown a lot since then and it is time to see what he has to put out on the new album! Check out the single, Mirage, below.

3. Widow's Weeds by Silversun Pickups
People have recommended this band to me for a while, however, I never found the time to listen to a full project by them. Now that it is summer, I decided to check out a few of their singles off the new album. After listening to the opening guitar (or bass) lick on the single, It Doesn't Matter Why, I am hooked and excited for this new album. It seems like this album will be string heavy, so there will be guitars, bass, violins, and more. Who knows, by the time this album comes out, they might have gained a new fan! Check out the single, It Doesn't Matter Why, below.

What albums are you excited for this weekend? Let me know down in the comments section!

  1. Oooooh I really like Silversun Pickups though they're not a band I actively listen to (I'm terrible at keeping up with music) - I may check that one out.

Of course, Travis Scott was going to release something before the end of the year. JACKBOYS is a hip hop collective consisting of Travis Scott, Sheck Wes, and Don Toliver. Despite the collective only having three members, the EP JACKBOYS has some guest features from Quavo, Offset, and many more.

To start off the album, we have a remix of Travis Scott's HIGHEST IN THE ROOM, which was released earlier this year. If you haven't heard the original, it has a trap beat with a high-pitched vocalist in the background. The remix keeps the chorus and his first verse, but then we have the addition of Rosalía and Lil Baby.…

Allah-Las is an American indie rock band consisted of four different members. LAHS marks the band's fourth studio album. While I have always known about Allah-Las, I have never had the chance to sit down and listen to one their albums, even though they have been on my "listen to list" for a while now. Now, with the release of LAHS, I had the chance to sit down and give them a chance, and I definitely wasn't disappointed.

The album starts out with Holding Pattern. There's an easy guitar groove going on at the very beginning. Right off the bat, this reminds me of some old-school classic rock, as we…

Album Review: The Odd Czar Against Us by CZARFACE

CZARFACE is a hip hop collective formed by hip hop duo 7L & Esoteric, as well as Wu-Tang Clan's Inspectah Deck. CZARFACE has had an eventful year, starting off with CZARFACE Meets Ghostface, which is a collaborative project between CZARFACE and Ghostface Killah from Wu-Tang Clan. CZARFACE also dropped an instrumental album titled Double Dose of Danger (which I was able to snag on Record Store Day this year!) and the album I am going to be reviewing, The Odd Czar Against Us. While I just discovered CZARFACE last year, they definitely reminded me of MF DOOM, with the comic book-like characters. Both also use…
