We have come to the first week in July. Just when you thought there weren't going to be a lot of big projects dropping this Friday, several artists have recently announced they are going to drop an album this weekend. Here are some of the albums I'm looking forward to this weekend.
1. Revenge of the Dreamers III by Dreamville
Revenge of the Dreamers III is a follow up to the 2015 album, Revenge of the Dreamers II. This record includes a lot of people who are signed to Dreamville Records, such as J. Cole and Bas who had an eventful 2018. Over 100 people were invited to the recording session for this album, whether they accepted the invitation or not is questionable, but it might have a lot to offer. I'm a bit skeptical when it comes to collaborative albums with a large amount of artists since everyone has their own style of rapping/singing. However, since they are already on their third album, fans still keep flocking to it. Check out one of the singles to their album below!
2. ERYS by Jaden Smith
After a long awaited return, Jaden Smith is back with a new album. It was rumored to be released in May or June, but it has been pushed back to July. He released a three track pack titled "ERYS IS COMING" back in April to hype up the album. His father, Will Smith, also made a surprise appearance at his Coachella set. If you didn't notice, ERYS is just SYRE spelled backwards, which was the name of his debut album. There are a lot of amazing features planned for this album, with his sister, Willow Smith, being one of them.
3. Flamingo by Olympia
I found out about Olympia while browsing upcoming albums on the internet. Olympia, or Olivia Bartley, is an Australian pop singer and songwriter. Flamingo will be her second studio album and will have twelve different tracks. I checked out her single Hounds and it looks promising. Check out the single below!
